Seeking advice on Myth choices

Hello everyone. I wished to ask the community on what should be my first choice for my Mythology. I will have 826 Myth after I finish capping tonight, and been wondering what I should spend them on. I am a Paladin and will continue to be one for a long time. I have currently defeated Garuda HM and have not yet attempted Titan HM due to wanting to be properly geared for the fight. Below is my current gear:
Ifrit Blade \ Darklight Shield
Hoplite Helmet, Chest and Feet
Darklight Hands/Belt
AF Pants (haven't found an upgrade yet)
Darklight Choker, Earring, Ring and Wrist of Fending
Amber Ring HQ

Sitting at 403VIT (30 Attrib in VIT), 4954HP before food/party buff.

As it stands doing Garuda HM trying to go for my weapon just to give a bit of an edge over the Ifrit weapon. Here is where my question comes in.

I want the Valor Surcoat as 1) it is shown in multiple threads to be BiS and is something I will strive to get anyway and 2) It helps me skip the darklight armor chest piece which, while minor, is something I would be grateful to do. Plus by choosing the Surcoat it enhances my VIT and tanking ability which helps me get into Titan parties so I can get my relic.

However, the usual pick for first myth choice is the +1 Relic. In the case of the Paladin this would be the Shield to +1, which getting the surcoat this week I can do the relic +1 next week with capping, which I plan to.

So does this sound like a good plan, or is there something I am not considering? I appreciate all advise and look to be capped by tomorrow evening but will wait a bit before making my decision. Thank you again.

I'd get the Shield +1 this week, AF+1 Chest week after if I was you.

You'll want to save up the philosophy tomes and get the DL legs too, they will last you a good while.

Personally I would go straight for +1 Sword/Shield. The extra threat on the weapon is really nice.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to save up tomes for Curtana +1 or Valor Chest piece, already have the Shield +1. I'm thinking the big VIT upgrade would be better than the threat generating, I'm not having much issues holding hate right now.

I just bought my 5th and final piece of valor (I have the worst luck in BC). I have the allagan shield, but still haven't +1'd my weapon. My guild is currently working on t5, and our dps are mostly i90, due to nothing but dps gear drops. The only time I ever have issues with threat is on turn 2 due to slash resist. Unless your group significantly out gears you (+1 compared to ak gear), you don't need the +1 weapon to hold threat. Just tighten up your rotation and threat shouldn't be an issue. I am a proponent of buying at least 1-2 valor pieces first to increase your survivablity.

+1 weapon is important since there's a lot of DPS who has +1. They will and they can take the aggro from you if you you choose to +1 your Curtana last.

I believe shield/sword are a waste of tomes. Allagan shield (BiS) is a turn 1 drop and even with DPS decked in ilv90 regular curtana holds hate with no real issues except turn 2 and even then its not out right losing hate, I'm still not in T4-5 so I can't judge how it goes there but for everything else I would just get the BiS AF pieces before worrying about weapons.

Unless you have a coil head piece, that would be the biggest upgrade next. Especially since there is no mid gear piece between DL and i90 gear, and the DL head is bound to the chest. After that then go for the relic upgrades. You won't have that big an issue with aggro as long as you know what you are doing.

Hero's Ring of Fending.

Get it, and swap it for your Amber Ring ASAP.

You will ALWAYS use it, and it is by FAR the best +Vit per Myth you can get.
The shield +1 is way, way down the list, and I'd only bother getting the +1 sword if you're having enmity issues (Turns 2 and 4+) with standard Relic.

(Honestly, I don't have any issues holding hate with standard relic over +1 relic DDs except on Turn 2 if they're BRDs and we go the left route. And Healers can ALWAYS pull hate off you with AoE Healspam)

Assuming no hate issues, I'd grab the Ring first, then the Valor body piece (unless you already have Allagan from T1) then the Valor Headgear.
Darklight Legs are fine for Coil and come with a nice Acc boost - you'll be getting plenty of Phil Tomes whilst farming Myth tomes.
