Quick Question About Selling Items...

Hello, is there an auction house or do your hired retainers act as a sort of AH? I have almost 200 items of all sorts and would like to try my hand at selling some of my crafted possessions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The retainers with the ward item search together function like an AH, but without bidding. Any items in the bazaars of your retainers will show up with their name and price in the search results, so that buyers can easily locate them to make the purchase. Thank you that helps a lot and yea I have YG open in Firefox at all times for recipes lol...I'm definitely setting up my retainer to sell then. Hope I get some buyers. So essentially it acts as FFxi AH where you just look something up to find the going price then sell yourself....cool. Thanks again

Something no one ever explains though, is that in every major city, there is a "Market Ward". Usually its right next to the crystal in each city. In Ul'dah, the Market Wards are called "The Dunes". If you go there, you can search for anything you want via a search engine, then teleport to the individual "ward" that retainer is in and buy the item directly from them.

You can also enter a ward and put your retainer in a certain spot, after you get done managing your bazaar.

The only 2 things i haven't been able to find out about this yet is:

- If you call your retainer to the Guild Hall, when you get done doing whatever, and dismiss the retainer, will it go back to it's spot in the bazaar?

- If someone buys something from your bazaar, where does that Gil go? Directly into your purse or your retainer's purse? Or does it get magically mailed to you somehow?

yea id like to know where the gil goes as well

Nope. They do not automatically return. That's the price of convenience.

Whatever you're asking for as payment for the item sold ends up in the retainer's inventory, including gil. It's possible to sell items for other items, not just gil.

Yeah, because you can instruct your retainer to look for and buy items at a certain price. So while the retainer is sitting there pimpin out your junk, he/she can be querying the system for like, fire shards at 150g and buying them all up if the retainer has the gil to do so. I think you can specify a number of that item you want to buy, so say if you only need like 20 fire shards, you can instruct your retainer, that once they have the gil, to buy 5 fire shards for 150gil whenever that opportunity hits the bazaar. I think.

If thats how it works, that would be pretty brilliant.
