Acceptable to spirit bind in Dungeons?

I recently went into a WP run where a DPS (wearing relic +1 and full DL) switched to all white items (including weapon) to spirit bind. Is this acceptable behavior in a dungeon?

To me, he's making the dungeon take longer then it has to all so he can get materia. Everyone else in the party was decently geared (one garuda weapon +dl, healer and tank had relic or relic+1). I could kinda understand if it was just a single accessory or armor piece, but the full gear list?

Am I overreacting or is this acceptable?

It's not really okay, but it's not exactly breaking any rules. Usually people wanting to do this will form spirit binding groups and stay away from DF. Unfortunately the most you can do is either afk and wait for someone to leave, leave yourself, or put up with it for the whole dungeon. You can always report them but I'm not sure how far that would go.

I would just put on all HQ accessories. Replacing everything with SB gear is a bit too much.

I think you're overreacting. If the dungeon goes along fine, it's not a big deal. If you want speed-runs, you should join a group created for that purpose. Still, would be nice if the person would wear full HQ ilvl55 stuff to spiritbond instead. More profit to be had doing that anyway. /shrug

It's just WP lol. So you can't faceroll it in 15 minutes, takes 17 instead. Great deal.

I feel its acceptable to spiritbond accessories in WP if the rest of your gear is very good to stellar. Everything including weapon is too much. That would really kill a party's ability to move through the dungeon with any speed. I feel its inconsiderate to the rest of the party.

Keep in mind we're carrying him and he's essentially getting a free ride. His DPS wasn't even causing him to appear on the threat meter besides an empty bar.

I was out DPSing him by far on my white mage.

Maybe it's just me... but I find this kind of rude. I mean if the DD in question had asked your entire party before doing so if it would be ok with everyone to spiritbind, then in my book at least, it would be acceptable. I just find it rather inconsiderate to do so with out asking the entire pt before hand because it's not just that one person, it's an entire pt and the combined pt's time they could possibly be wasting. Again even if it's not a speed run you're right, it's going to slow down the over all time it takes to finish the dungeon no matter how you're doing the dungeon.

I spiritbond all the time in AK and WP, as long as I'm not doing a speed-run. You can do both in AF gear, after all.

And if you don't want to run the "risk" of being grouped with people with lesser gear than you...make your own group!
