New lvl 50 smn
Hi all. I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction. I've got my first job to lvl 50 I've completed my body piece and started working on my relic weapon. I'm not rich by any stretch and with all the choices in new equipment to buy with the tomes, I'm wondering what pieces would be best to get first. I've had a look through the forums but haven't found much on what's best to get.
Any advice would be most helpful

First, congrats!
Secondly, you might want to use your search for a good idea of the rotations involved.
Thirdly, I would get relic+1 asap, and just darklight the rest.
Darklight provides a buttload of accuracy, this is good for just starting coil, though it is more than you need.
Once you're done with darklight and your relic+1, chestpiece is a good place to start, though exactly what order you should get there is a thread about that too.
And if you're poor like many starting characters, I would suggest ignoring Vanya alltogether. It is technically better, but not actually noticeably so, unless you have massive resources to pentameld them.
And also make sure you have your cross class skills up to par, namely raging strikes from archer (which iirc you must have anyway), and swiftcast from thm (level 26).

What I did was this:
Unlock SCH if you haven't already. You'll get WAY faster queue times as a healer.
Run WP/AK as SCH and collect tomes.
Use your first few batches of PTomes to get some DL gear for your SCH (just cloak and legs are enough, AK gear for the rest). Save your MTomes.
Buy the DL Casters accessories and use them on both SMN and SCH (since you'll be DDing in the runs a fair bit anyway)
Use MTomes to buy SMN Myth armor only.
Doing is this way you get faster runs, gear both jobs at once, and jump your SMN straight into iLVL 90 gear with DL accessories, and ready for relic after just a few weeks.

Thanks for the replies. I've already leveled archer to 26 white Mage and black Mage both up to 36. Scholar is unlocked. I won the ak body last night so using that for the time being. I bought the dl gloves to start with and working on upgrading the others with ak runs.
