Garuda HM input

Hi Everyone,

I've lately been trying to down Garuda HM as part of my relic quest through the DF. Every time my friend has done the fight using the DF he's about 90% successful in the runs. I tried 5 different groups last night and they all wiped because the offtank couldn't hold the add with the red stream so it kept killing our party. Is this something I'm to expect going forward or am I just having a string of bad luck? The fight seems moderately easy.

Sounds like you are having some bad luck, i beat it on duty finder on the first try and many times after that :)

Sounds like bad luck. Really all the fights I have done so far are pretty easy, its all about learning patterns and your job. If tanking is a problem maybe a suggestion of DPS/heals waiting a short time to let the tank establish aggro could help though.

Garuda is a cake walk, but it takes a whole team to corroborate to do it right.

When the ads pop, its very important for the tanks to position Garuda and the Red while the DPS downs the Green as fast as possible in order to takeout the Red.

If these aren't possession right, their attacks combined and decimate a group since you are cornered into one section of the map.

I've done a few speed runs in this party combination: 1 Tank, 2 Healers, & 5 DPS. You ignore all the plums (except Satin when it pops). Tank holds onto Garuda and Red while the party takes out Green. Fight should only take 5 mins.

I've had my share of bad runs on DF though. It usually ended up being because the tanks are not positioning the ads right, careless DPSs that relied to heavily on heals, or messy healers.

I've notice that if you have a combination of two bad players, there's no way that you'll be able to beat any of the HM Primals in DF.

This is the most important part of this post.

If the Off-tank couldn't hold threat, it was most likely the WHMs fault.

Sadly, this is usually the case. It's either an extremely horrible tank or a healer (namely WHM) who likes to spam the crap out of AoE heals (Medica 2).

This is something to expect when it comes to Duty Finder honestly. Parties can be hit or miss, with mostly misses as content gets more challenging.

I would suggest just having DPS immediately unload on whatever sister pops where you are no matter what color line she is if you go to one of the sides where a sister pops. Getting either sister killed immediately is a huge advantage and it gives the off-tank time to build hate on the other one. Waiting for the "correct" sister to get to the party takes a bit and all the while the timer is ticking before they Mistral Shriek.

Also make sure WHMs keep Shroud of Saints ready for that part as they will likely need to throw out at least 1 Medica.
