New lag issue?

So this is my first post on the FF14 forum so please forgive me if this is the wrong section to ask this (I'm not sure what other sub-section would be more appropriate?) and please direct me to the correct sub-section if that is indeed the case.

Anywho, my problem. Ever since Monday/Tuesday I have been experiencing incredible lag, more lag than what everyone else is experiencing. I'm literally struggling with a 1-2sec latency issue.

Now as far as I can tell this is only input lag and not my line under performing as every other game I try ping/speed test I do works perfectly. When I load up the game I have no long load times, dungeons don't take long etc... But whenever I try to dodge and AoE or stop a cast it takes seconds to do after I commence the action. Running is especially annoying as I will only run a good second or two after I activate it.

This has only been an issue for the last three or so days making farming WP as my SCH unplayable and frustrating.

I am playing on the PS3 so I know I have more lag that PC players etc... But this lag is just insane and I've never had this issue before with FF14.

Please forgive me if this is the wrong section or if I come across as a hater (Which I'm not). Can anyone let me know if this is something that SE might have screwed up on with Tuesday's Maintenance? Or if anyone else is getting weird lag issues this week?

Hmmm.. I did have that issue a while ago. It passed though i think after another patch was downloaded. Though i'm playing PC, i would say you'd may have to wait for a new patch to fix the order of things. My game at the moment isn't even letting me in. I get to the play, config, exit screen before the character page and everything is highlightable but not clickable, i'm guessing that's to do with some form of latency on the thing. I've alerted GM's and hopefully it's a patch problem, this is also in the past week or so. Hopefully this was atleast a little bit helpful

I can confirm the same thing is happening to me as well. Last week I was fine and did not had any issues with lag except sporadically on Monday due to everyone spamming dungeons. However now, I have been getting the same 1-2 second ghosting on all my actions and dodging as well. I have run numerous tests on ping, jitter and network traffic and everything returned green. I even directly connected to my modem, removing the router from the equation and I still suffer from this 1-2 second lag. Its odd and infuriating since I have no problems with other services such as youtube, steam, skype, or other online games and I am not even capping my internet throughput.

I have come to realize that if I run with a ps3 player I start to lag or something is going on I have very fast internet and a great gameing desktop I have never lagged on a game until now Idk if im the one lagging though everything for me is fluent my movements everything I have no problems running with other PC players but as soon as I get in with a ps3 player my receiving goes up to about 4k and everything is just bouncing everywere I vote for a pc only server for ppl that have problems dealing with ps3 players and lag that they bring them I cant even do titan hm if there is a ps3 player in the party due to 2 in the last party I was in my recievening whent from 85 to over 5k I had 0 time to react to anything the graphic would appear and I would be dead before I can even register to move

PS3 doesn't lag (as in network lag) more than PC and the post above is the most ignorant I read on these forums.

What's your ISP? I heard BT started giving issues recently.

Yes after today maintenance im getting horrible lag too 1 to 2 seconds delay its impossible to play

I'm experiencing horrible lag myself like 5 to 6 sec frame catch up, I was doing a fight against titan HM for the relic weapon quest and the attacks would freeze and the other characters in my party would just be standing there. Also during the fight everything would just stop but yet i could keep attacking and move like normal but everything would be like time stopped matrix. SO i left the instance but the black screen took a bit of time on a black screen while the sound of the battle was still happening even after i left before finally bringing me back to a town. WP also lags alot for me when i'm running it mass slow down and even freezing. I don't know whats going on it seems to be ongoing as of late for me, one day it runs smooth and other days it's just unplayable. I just dont know whats going on.

I play on PC and I've been having the same problem for almost a week now. Things freeze for several seconds, making activities like gathering and crafting take forever. It also renders Titan HM practically unplayable when there's no time to react. Occasionally it gives me error 90000 during the more intense parts, like the bombs. It's starting to become frustrating, as I'm unable to make any kind of progress in the game.

I've also been getting lag recently to the point where the game is becoming unplayable. I'm not getting lag with anything but this game so I'm thinking there is a problem on SE's end.

I am also getting lag spikes but only on peak hours, early mornings no lag at all.
