More Dynamic Battle-Music!

I should be getting ready for work instead of writing this.

How about a little more variety in battle music, huh?

Not many of the forum dwellers like to see "Do this like FFXI", but I don't think this is something that would set off fire alarms - How about changing up the battle music, for different zones, regions, etc.

I remember the music would change when you were solo, or in a party. Then, again when you were solo inside an area that wasn't considered outside, and once more when you were in a party in an area that wasn't considered outside. My first time hearing the battle music, party-edition, inside quicksand caves gave me goosebumps. It was pretty dramatic, and also quite excellent. The battle music in outside areas, in the Wings of the Goddess areas was also right on.

So, how about some more musical variation?

The battle music is already different for each zone
Dungeon battle music is boring though

The main battle music is remixed for the different zones but it's the same song thematically. It's nice that it's remixed, pleasing really but I do see what OP is saying. I'm growing VERY, VERY bored of the soundtrack, and that's... kind of frightening for an FF game. I could never really say that about 1.0~.

Only thing keeping me from complaining is I have high hopes the file crackers will identify the music .dats and discover a way for us to change the music files ourselves. Then I can have my own suite of battle music. Though it won't help me for dungeons, as I'm sure they ALL use the same damn music file... so even cracking won't help. -_-

I'm close to muting the game and just playing my mp3 player.

While the second dungeon music isn't very good (a FF-ésque battle theme would be glorious), the first one at least has a nice FF2 reference on the first phrase.
