I would look at recruiting or possibly joining another LS if I were you.
Just because theres nobody in your linkshell dosen't mean there arent many players on the server, your linkshell just sucks. There is no need for server merges.
I know it'll never happen but I think mergers would be good right now.
No point in merging yet until the Ps3 version drops and it fails to bring back gamers or final fantasy fans.
If it does bring them back its better to have the servers there to greet them.

Mergers would be more detrimental than you think it would be. Also, it would make absolutely no sense when they'd eventually be releasing a PS3 version, also the anticipation of players coming back when their vision is finished (hopefully). Then the servers will be overcrowded and they'd have to spread them back out again.
Just deal with it for a little while.
