Need to put lock outs on over populated jobs.

The tank shortage is getting worse and worse. It is funny seeing people queue though as healers and tanks to gear up dps. Any currency of tomes you aquire should be only allowed to be spent on the job/role you did the runs for.

But on the bigger issue there is a large tank shortage and overabundance of healers right now if you keep tabs on jobs being played in the game. On most nights the white mage/scholar numbers exceed 200 while paladin/warriors barely hit 200 played. To help with the job disparity in the duty finder please lock out healers/dpsers if the queue exceeds an amount of healers/dps to tank ratio or at most give a huge penalty in tomes dropped. No one should be forced to waste 3 hours just to enter a instance because of lack of healer or tank balance.

this is the silliest Idea I have ever heard. since 1 character you make can be all jobs.

then why dont you be a tank

Or you could just level one of the jobs you feel people aren't playing enough. I know I know "I shouldn't have to play a job I don't want to" but what you're asking is for everyone else to play jobs they don't want to just so you can play whatever you like.

At the same time no one should be forced to play something they don't want to play.

You: DPS should not be forced into 3 hour ques.

You: Lock out overpopular jobs.

You: Therefore dps can't que at all.

3 hour wait is better than being locked out entirely.

You realize your suggestion screws you over, right?

Group with FC tanks or join a LFG linkshell on your server. Don't force people into roles they don't wish to play, they are paying the same as you or me.

As a tank, I love my instant queues.
As for Locking out jobs that's not going to happen..
As for getting more people to tank. You need to talk to the Healer and DPS that freak out on Tanks.

I did a DF party and the WHM wanted to speed run. kept running ahead and pulling mobs. I got to the point where just before the 1st boss I was sick of it and let them Die.

Got a new healer and run went find.

Most stupid idea I have ever heard, yes lets not only lock currency onto specific roles but then force people to play other roles or lock them out of the DF entirely...

This issue is being adressed in 2.1, luckily SE had a few more braincells and actually came up with a good idea.

Havn't been raged on yet (mostly due to using Premades, and running DL/+1 SR's) But like others have said, roll a tank and you will never have a tough time getting geared. Welcome to every other Triad MMO created...
