Posting in general forum thread about botting number #936284
So what happens if a legitimate player finds a glitch and ends up underground? Do they deserve a ban for that?
Due to the varying in elevation of the ground, it's not quite as easy to detect as one would think.
However, what should be easy to detect would be the fact that these bots can teleport long distances and are able to strike a node 4+ times in less than a second. Other games usually disconnect someone that's suddenly moving quickly around a map and would flag the account if the it's a frequent occurrence (to account for more legit problems like lag spikes).
Nowadays they not only mine underground, they can attack mobs from underground. Mobs can't fight back, so there is no danger of dying.
Or attack mobs well over a screen away while hiding in bushes, again mobs can't attack back, no danger of dying.
Then there is the awesome speed hacking 4+ attempts in one go miner/botanist.......
The list of these goes on and on.
But no-one cares.....least of all SE.
