Random Maintenance Schedules

I've only been playing for a month now but wondered, are all these maintenance downtimes normal and do they typically seem to choose random hours?

I'm loving the game, but it seems like every other day it's down and while maintenance almost always happens at night, hours are all over the place.

All for patching and fixing bugs, but it would seem they would have a more appropriate downtime schedule!

Well from what I remember the hours are pretty much always the same except for the maintenance that happened last night.

They switch from screwing me out of all my game time 8:00pm to 2:00pm to screwing me out of half my game time 12:00pm - 4:00am but thats ok cause the people with no jobs still are able to play during the day and get there entertainment...

Normally i'm ok with it but not 3 days a week...

I get hit by maintenance all the time and can't play that night (work + family during day/evening)
I'm ok with it, but I can see how it's getting frustrating for some... my wife complained last night and this morning that she's getting sick and tired of the maintenance happening too often and thinking about quitting... O.O (She'll probably not quit, but when she does it's hard for me to get her back in game... /sigh)

Shhhhhh! How dare you speak against the maintenance!

Everyone knows these are just here to fix all the issues that pile up in this game every two days. Lots of issues getting fixed and all, and no we do not need to know about any of them.

It's not normal. We still have a lot of emergencies coming up because it's a new game. After a while, we'll have hardly any emergency maintenances, because they're fixing things now. Hang in there. :)

Maintenances are performed around the normal operating hours of the operations team in Japan. That's why they are inconvenient for us. Personally I've only really felt the effects of the maintenance last night since it was pretty early, but every other night it's been pretty late for me since I work normal work hours during the day and I'm usually in bed by the time the maintenance would start anyway.

When is this game not new anymore? It's been out three months? What about when 2.1 comes out? Is it back to being new again and six more months of 3-4 weekly maintenance's...cause you know, they got issues to fix in this game we are paying for.

Game won't stop being new until the 20th expansion, geez such entitlement and impatience!

That's why every US-based MMORPG does their maintenance between 9am to 5pm US time?

If anything the fact they're in Japan means they'd have to suffer less to have a maintenance time that resembles the industry norm.
