Myth ring vs gryphon skin ring

Also value of crit vs determination- Crit is such a huge upgrade for all other classes is it truly ranked so low for Pallys?

I was comparing a slotted gryphon vs the myth ring-

Basically with the myth ring you gain 5 vit and 4 accuracy (already easily accuracy capped) at the cost of - 9 Str, 9 Dex, 1 Parry, 9 skill speed, and (i slotted crit but could also slot determination) 6 crit

Also one last thing Rogedayn VS Hyur
Roge has 1 more Vitality but Hyur has 1 more str and 2 more dex- Which is truly better?

Picking 1 vit vs 1 str/2 dex is so situational. They are such small numbers that their relative value is going to be so small...

I suppose that Vit was more valuable when you die or live by less than 16hp. On the other hand every other situation the str/dex is better I guess? lol

Can't really say. Frankly I like that fact. Doesn't pigeonhole is into a race to be the "best" tank.

My answer: Pick a race you like since stats are so minute in comparison and can easily be fixed by proper allocation.

I am switching from Lallafell. So the gains are quite different than just those stated. I read that I would need to get to 404 for next strength significance. However I am all about optimization for turn 5. Thanks for the responses.

I main Pally,but have Warrior,bard,summoner, and scholar as well (will have all soon) but will always main with Pally.

Any thoughts on crit and ring comparison ?

Sea Wolves: +6 Vit, +5 Str, +1 Dex, +2 Pie (slightly more MP for Flash)
Highlander: +5 Vit, +6 Str, +3 Dex

Really doesn't matter between those two, because the extra Str and Dex is very very rarely going to be able to push you into another Block/Parry tier, and more HP is always helpful.

The main reason why you should pick either Sea Wolf or Highlander though is because they are both epic enough to be able to *just* hit over 7k HP (with the best i90 equipment and full stat distribution into Vit, in a party, and when eating HQ Toast: 7029 HP for the Sea Wolf, 7014 HP for the Highlander, 6999 for the next-best Hellsguard!) :D :p

Yeah, overmelded Gryphonskins are basically an expensive means of trading a little Vit for a lot of Str/Dex.
They can be viable once your HP is sufficiently high to (i) prevent you dieing from sudden spike damage (ii) let the Party's healer not overheal you with a Critical Cure II.

The difference between Crit and Det is minimal, but basically always go for +Det over +Crit for a Paladin.

Ok here is another brain teaser-

I can currently give up 14 Vit for 14 strength to reach the 405 Str. Would it be worth it?

Based off your gear, might as well go for it. I don't think you will lose too much hp and it would be a decent gain. Don't like it, switch back. Mostly talking about stat allocations though. I'm too tired and lazy to figure out the racial difference. Even then if looking to min/max probably would be in your best interest.

Yea would be stat allocation- Going to change to Roeg since if Vit is truly the way to go the extra point cant be added to Vit vs can add the str with allocation to hit the next tier

If I remember correctly the stat tiers may have shifted slightly since that testing (Phase 3)

But if you have a respec to burn, you could try unallocating all points, then putting one point in at a time into Str until your block/parry rate changes (just let a weak mob hit you until you block, and note the number mitigated). Personally I'd rather keep all my points in Vit, and use Accessories to hit higher Str Tiers if I ever need to (4x HQ Gryphonskin accessories and Rosegold Ear Cuffs + all-i90 armor = 406 Str for a Seawolf PLD)
