24 Hour Restriction on making a new FC: why does it exist?

Explanation: when you attempt to create a Free Company after leaving another one, the Administrator NPC tells you that you cannot create another FC until at least 24 hours have passed since you left your last one.

I'm just curious... why does this restriction exist? I'm thinking it might be there to prevent some sort of exploit or jerk behavior, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's to prevent RMT from creating new Free Companies all the time?

To be clear: the reason I am creating a new FC is because my old FC leader decided to quit the game. He disbanded his FC before logging out to unsubscribe. He kicked every single member before doing this, but not before asking me to take all of the items out of the FC chest. I am attempting to remake a new FC for all of the people left behind... but none of us can do that for 24 hours.

I don't know I just made a FC last night and had to wait 2hrs to start the petition. Sucks but i think you can make a LS and invite ppl ASAP if you need to get the ppl together sooner.

We still have the old LS to talk in, so that is how we are communicating until tomorrow... thank goodness. :D

I am sure there is some logic behind it to prevent 'jerk' behavior but it really is a bad design. I have had guilds split in past games where leaders / followers disagree on direction for new content and a new guild is formed. Having to wait an arbitrary 24 hrs just seems silly to me. I had friends who recently left a large FC to start their own smaller FC of close knit real life friends and had to wait to do so, it was bad enough they were sending texts and emails to coordinate people being online to sign the charter but when they went to they were denied.

Another thing I don't understand is why do we need 3 ppl to sign for it? I don't care if it has something to do with the Lore its just a waste of time.

Yeah, I find the charter thing sort of silly. I mean, you aren't going to get very far in a Free Company of just you... There are already ways to 'build up' your FC to earn points/ranks... so the requirement to even have 3 people present is just a time sink. The FC is really for my Coil static more than anything... and we all have very different schedules. We usually don't get to run until 1am EST, so coordinating people being online to make the FC is going to be hard.
