Rule #1 for enjoying FFXIV ARR

1. Do not visit the official forums.

I broke rule #1 this morning, and I am regretting it.

lol yeah it is becoming same old same old around here, a few new threads a day complaining about the same things, threats to quit and doom bringers saying ARR is dying (despite the reported 1.5m subs and it unexpectedly pushing SE from loss to profit this year).

I think people need to realise that its a new game and content takes time to create, yeah theres problems but they'll be fixed soon enough. I mean Rome wasnt built in a day ;)

Came in to type "don't visit the forums", but see that's taken care of!

Sadly that is pretty much true - the trolling in here at the moment is reaching critical mass. Thankfully though, the forum only represents a tiny cross section of the actual player community though, so take anything said in here (especially those gloom and doom threads) with a grain of salt.

Really the only section I really come here for is the Lore section as the game's storyline is the main reason I'm playing (and why I play RPGs in general). ;)

Don't do Fates......

Yeah, I see lots of complaints and 'sugjestions' that are basically people trying to make the game exactly what they feel it should be. Only very few things really wrong with the game. I'd love to see some things tweaked ARR is pretty fun to me for the most part.

No, the forums helping me enjoy the game more :D

I think that number has dropped down to more around 600k, and they designed the game originally with the intent of about a max 500k subscribers, so i'd say it is still doing well as far as that goes. The new game thing is kinda old, sure they rebuilt a good chunk of it.. but this game was developed for like 5 years. 2.1 is pretty much stuff that was advertised to be released with the game.. how can someone be excited about paying for content that is actually behind the content they have already released.

Now by saying that, I am not saying this game is doomed.. but they need to get their act together. I'm tired of waiting and being thanked for my patience for a maintenance every day , security breaches every other day , while still having security tokens shoved down your throat as if we are the ones with no security. There are f2p browser games with more better security sadly. The numbers have dropped for many reasons, hopefully they don't too much. Even with 300k users and more world mergers down the road, the game could thrive. I really do hope it does, but I won't make any excuses for them anymore.
