Direct Targeting

Ok... I'm sorry for sounding completely stupid but I don't quite understand direct targeting from this last patch no matter how much I try it out or read what it does. Can someone please explain it to me? I don't notice any difference with it on or off.

P.S.: I hate thousand needles when soloing. >.<

You'd only notice it if you use a targeting mode and have it set to only target "Party", "Friendly", "Enemy". Example: You have it set to "Enemy", with it on, pushing confirm could still target a non-enemy that's right in front of you. With it off, it will only target enemies.

So it's unnecessary and you wouldn't notice a difference if you play with targeting set to "All".
