Rare one time item went to player in another job?

I was in the bowl of embers hm and finally my codex dropped. I clicked need but someone who was not a scholar ended up with my weapon. How can greed win out over need? And if they did click need how could they when it was not for their job? I have a witness to this event and even reported it as a bug in game but have yet to hear back. It's so hard to get your weapons from ifrit and to have someone that is not even in your class to take it is just so offensive. What can be done? Plz help

Was your armoury chest full?

You don't choose the weapon, the weapon chooses you.

Quite possible your Need Roll was met with someone that was also your same job
then it was a 50/50 split : high roll wins.

Even though you say the person was not the same job.. I question whether you based you information on what gear this person was wearing ?

If your Armory was 100 % full the game defaults by placing any equipment obtained into your Inventory. If your Inventory is 100% full as well you will get a message :
( item name ) was lost unable to obtain.

In the case of Lotted / Rolled items.. ( Need ) will always cancel Greed.

There is only one other thing that could have happened: That is you already obtained this item B4 and put it into your Storage / Retainer and forgot that you have it.

This happens all the time on AK runs for me.. the message will say I can not have 2 of the same item.

Was the dude a SMN maybe? I don't know if the codex is for SCH/ARN/SMN or if they're separate ones, but just a thought.

You can have a second copy if one is in your retainer's inventory. >_>

This is the only thing i can think happened. I'm pretty sure SMN and SCH use the same weapons along with ARN. It's a little strange i can't think of any other classes that share a weapon type. I don't think it would have been so hard to create different kinds of books for them.

No, two books drop in the Bowl of Embers. Ifrit's Grimoire can only be used by SMN and ACN, Ifrit's Codex can be used *only* by SCH. This is how it generally is for all the blue and purple books. If an Ifrit's Codex dropped, only a SCH should've been able to roll Need on it.

I bet 9/10 times a sch does ifrit he gets paired with a whm so just go again and get it next time, it'll take 1day instead of waiting 1 week for support

I have been back, a few times. It hasn't dropped again. No there could not have been another scholar there because only 2 could ever be there at once as the sch is a healer. The second healer was a white Mage and that's not who got the book. Somewhere around lvl 50 summoners and scholars started using diff books
The one I have equipped now is some healing book that my summoner can not equip. It's a sch only book.
My inventory isn't full. I always make sure and I have not gotten any new weapons
I'm at a loss as to how this happened unless it's a bug or glitch of some kind.
