Me too. I can't live without FFXIV.

There was a hack attempt that was stealing gil from players so they had to push out the maintenece sooner than normal. as for when the servers will be back up. I will be guessing they will be setting up countermeasures to avoid the same hack from working again. I do wonder how this will be handled seeing they are going through another company to protect their info.

Well they had to do an emergency maintenance with the whole MB Gil Hack going on. And on top of that, they have to finish up what ever they planned on maintaining today (if it werent for the hacks going on of course they would have been done).

At least this is a good emergency maintenance move. Imagine if they didn't shut everything down earlier... A lot of money will be lost. Ours (gil wise) and theirs (money wise).

I really am curious about how long the maint will last though, it's such a serious issue I'd imagine it'll be several more hours yet.
