Playstation 4 and Beta Period

I've seen conflicting articles and can't seem to find anything official from SE. Does anyone know if the beta period for the PS4 will be available at launch? I've seen stuff saying so, and others saying february 22nd.

FEB 22nd is most accurate and I think they said that date too.

I could of sworn the beta doesn't come at launch...and would come around Feb.
I know there are articles saying yes and no, but to be honest, it is best to believe articles that are more recent and have good sources. Some past articles maybe true, but usually SE is knowm for delaying things...

If I believe I am correct the beta for the PS4 version will be in February. That is the date when the PS4 is available in Japan, so they are not going to want to start the beta until the entire population has a chance to get in if they want to do so.

The PS4 beta will begin February 22nd, which is the same date the PS4 launches in Japan. So both are correct, it is just misleading because people assume that launch date in Japan is the same as for NA or EU, not 3 months later.

Also for anyone who does not know, Square confirmed the beta is not exclusive to Japan. It will be available worldwide in February.

The above is correct. I specifically remember hearing this from SE stating the Beta will launch with the Japan release of the PS4. Also anyone who bought a PS3 copy will be able to upgrade to the PS4 at no charge.

Also, I remember reading somewhere that until the PS4 version is available, the PS3 version is NOT playable on PS4. So you'll need to keep your PS3 around until you can snag the upgrade to PS4 version if you want to continue playing the PS3 version.
