iLvl90 gear... I'm not sure... upgrades or downgrades?

I'm looking at my own gear, and looking at the the Mythology gear...

and it doesnt even seem like an upgrade. Some stats are better, but I'm giving up a ton or others.

For example, the hat.
+6 VIT
+6 Mind
+4 Deter
0 Piety
but I lose
-16 crit
-6 spell spd


Gain 16 points, but lose 22? :s

What are you comparing the pieces to? Darklight or vanya, and if it's darklight are you comparing it to the chest which also has head included so you have to separate stats for both helm/chest to get the actual values?

When comparing darklight or vanya to myth gear depending on piece you will gain anywhere from 4 of your core stat when looking at belt/accessories to 5-9 when comparing to boots/helm/chest/legs/gloves, there's also all the secondary stats and vitality you gain from upgrading, do not underestimate vitality on gear.

Also while I may not know the exact values for scholar, the value of mind(your core stat) is worth 4-7 secondary stats per point depending on secondary stat. The 6 mind you gain from whatever piece you are comparing to is worth more than the secondaries you lose through the upgrade, and then there's the vit and det you gain which just adds to the value of myth over the old piece.

Sorry, the lodestone hasnt updated yet. I am comparing it to HQ Vanya gear with mostly crit, then DETER, MIND, PIE, SPL SPD. I have full HQ Vanya except boots, and nearly all gear has 5 materia.

What Pellegri said. The MND alone blows the iL70 gear out of the water.

You are comparing DL head/body to AF2 Body. Add in the head piece and that is a true comparison. Then it is close to +20 for each of the main 4 stats on the head and body added together. (Vitality, Mind, Determination, Piety)

No, I am not comparing HQ Vanya hat to the AF2 hat. My numbers are correct. I was asking if that small MND increase and other sub-stats are worth what I lose, since crit is a pretty good stat for SCH.
I'll take the above advice to heart however and follow the MND route, despite my losses.

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do you get/make lvl 70 and lvl 90 gear if it is capped at lvl 50? Is it the gear with the stars like 1 star = 10 levels?

Any mind is better hands down over any other stat. Crit is good but doesn't touch +6 mind.

For the person just above me: The gear is level i70-90 but can be equipped by your level 50 character. Level i70 gear can be crafted or purchased spending philosophy tomestones earned by completing high level dungeons. The crafted gear also requires materials only obtained using philosophy tomestones. Level i90 gear is obtained by spending mythology tombstones or from drops in The Binding Coil of Behemoth. The myth stones can only be accumulated at 300 power week.

Ow. All right, thanks. And when does it show in the crafting log? I am GSM lvl 50 but I missed it. I'll check it better in case it is there.
