How To Make The Botters Work For You

I went farming for enough wool to make a set of 41 gear for my WHM and started to wonder why this person was only killing half the mobs.

Then I realized they were just stationary killing all the mobs in range aka Botting Sheep.
Here's all little video of me pulling wolves and other mobs nearby, Which they then promptly claim when in range and then I can pull the sheep.

If anything this video shows how blatantly easy it is to find out if someone is botting or not. Pretty darn sad...

This video also shows the script for them summoning the chocobo buddy, which I realized they are using so that you can't screw them up by pulling mobs out of range; the chocobo goes after the mobs, and they claim the next thing that pops

Unfortunately some bots are a lot more sophisticated than the one you experienced. The bots that a lot of people are finding actually teleport/instant claim mobs pretty much the milisecond they spawn. Also, if you manage to kill them, many of them are either able to raise themselves because they sometimes travel in a 8-bot party or they raise at the sanctuary and teleport back to the same area instantly.

Hyperion has tons more just like this. Most have been around since the start of the game, and they do this all day every day.

There's a cluster of 4 like this guy right outside of Quarrymill that have been killing the bats/mice for the better part of a month now, at least.

I love pulling bombs to the botters by Copperbell. There's nothing more satisfying than wading through a sea of dead bots while mining.

I was farming diremites the other day over by Fallgourd Float, trying to level up weaver past the "Diremite Web" stage. Someone did that to me... stole aggro on the mite I was fighting, lured it out of its range, and claimed it when it stopped being invulnerable. I was very angry. Please, don't do this unless you are positive you're taking it from a bot.

I wouldn't publicize having to do with or using bots in any way, shape or form.

how are they able to steal claim from you in the first place?

Be careful when dealing with these bots though. Sure, it might be fun to kill them and such, but here's the thing: If they actually catch you killing them, they can report you and get YOU banned. Imagine that.

They get aggro on w/e someone is fighting, and then run it out of range so that it resets.
