I would really like the ability to send/receive tells to/from people on my friends list or in my FC while in a dungeon. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I remember reading that this is working as intended and they currently don't have any plan to change it. Something about them wanting to keep players focused on the duty and not distracted by other sources. They did however state that it's possible to do technically speaking. Personally I want to see this changed as well, I think that any form of restriction to communication in an mmorpg is a terrible idea.
I agree that not being able to do tells is a bit annoying, but I have also had the other side of ppl using "distracted by linkshell chat" as an excuse for letting me die in a dungeon. Plus, dungeons now are a safe haven from gil spam tells.
Perhaps the use of the duty finder is also a reason - with how toxic some players can be, do we REALLY want to be able to receive tells full of verbal abuse from total strangers who will probably never see us again and so feel entitled to spew nonsense?
Have you never been in duty finder? Preventing /tell does not stop verbal abuse and honestly preventing /tell causes more problems as people instead just fight over party chat, which means -everyone- gets involved. Yoshi said he prevented it as he did not want people to be mean, which is the most dumbest excuses I've ever heard in my life and I honestly have zero clue what he was expected.
This block then begins to affect your play style. I like talking with people, I will be having a friendly /tell with someone and that is ALL I can do, if I do quests that involve instance I have to stop talking to that person, if I want to do dungeons I have to stop talking to that person. So I don't do either, then I get bored of the game because its either be social with friends or not..... cant have both, that is too much to ask!
