Vengeance (Request/Suggestion)
Greetings! I've not had the pleasure of playing WAR during the later levels/content yet, but I can do simple math, and understand how player damage based mitigation vs enemy damage based mitigation works.
WAR needs a defensive ability that scales with ENEMY damage, rather than player damage, something analogous to Rampart or Sentinel. MRD/WAR are supposed to be a tank job, however, the lions share of their abilities are offense focused, with a hand full of recovery abilities thrown in as an after thought (Personal opinion).
This is not the only thing the job needs IMO, and I don't think a single ability change will fix the job as a whole, but it would be a start, and something to think about for further adjustments.
So here is my request/suggestion:
Original Ability:
Vengeance
Cast: Instant
Recast: 120 sec
Delivers an attack with a potency of 50 every time you suffer physical damage.
Duration: 15 sec
Revamped Ability:
Vengeance
Cast: Instant
Recast: 120 sec
Steals 20% of damage taken back from attacker.
Duration: 15 sec
Obviously, if you get 1 shot, you can't recover the 20%, so this is not exactly the same as 20% mitigation, and it only works for physical damage, unlike PLD abilities.
Please like this post if this seems reasonable and worthwhile!
