Question about subscription cost

First week on the game and I am loving it. I was going to get my subscription going for after the 30 day free period....but for the life of me I cannot find out how to. Not real sure why a company makes it so complicated to give them money lol. I looked at Target and Walmart for game time cards and found none, and all I have come across is this Crysta or something, but it didn't say how much I need per month or how to go about getting some (Only examples I found were for EU, and I am in NA.

Any help on this would be appreciated so I can get the ball rollin before the month is up. Thanks in advance

It was the same with me and took time to find out, you can upgrade or decide how long you want at the moggle station site (advertised on the lodestone) . It cost me around 47 usd if I recall for 180 days. And you can use a credit card instead of crysta.

Yep. I did mine on the Mog Station. After you log in just click Account Services, then Subscription Services and you can set it up on a credit card from there; or you can buy Crysta and do it that way. I set mine up to bill off a credit card. I chose the entry level subscription which gets you one character per world to a max of eight characters total, I didn't see a point in having more than one at the moment since I can do pretty much anything with one character.

For anyone who wants to use Crysta, 1 Crysta = 1¢, so a subscription that costs $14.99 would cost 1499 Crysta, and so on with the other subscription options.

You can buy Crysta with a credit card at the MogStation, or (at least in the US, not sure of elsewhere) you can buy Ultimate Game Cards at retailers and use them to buy Crysta. (The two step process of Ultimate Game Card -> Crysta, then Crysta -> subscription is the way for people in the US to get game time without a credit card, since FFXIV game cards aren't available in the US.)

Oh, and for the multi-month subscription options, SE's site (at least the one I found when I was settting up my sub) only displays what the equivalent per-month cost would be, but you have to pay the entire amount at once, so for instance when they say a 180 day subscription is $12.99 per month, they really mean that it costs $77.94 once every six months.
