Wait time for duty finder as DPS is ridiculous...

There's no reason anybody should have to wait 30 minutes or more to run a dungeon. Open tanks and healers for cross-server interaction on all servers and keep the DPS in their current server groups. Incentives and rewards for higher level tanks and healers to queue and complete lower level dungeons. Daily quests to kill certain dungeon bosses. Something. Anything. :eek:

That is the way it is because everyone and their dog plays DPS, in my experience a lot of people play DPS because they don't like the 'responsibility' brought on by being a tank/healer.

Just roll a tank, problem solved.

I have a 50 paladin and a 39 warrior in the making. It's good to take a break and try out other jobs every now and then, though.

I dont see how full x-server DF for tanks/healers would solve anything, it's still the same ratio, since there are still as many dps looking for exactly the same number of groups with no more or less tanks/healers available.

All they should really do is what WoW did, give the classes in highest demand a bonus for each dungeon finished. If this later on turns out to be dps (highly unlikely) so be it. Atleast it would bring more tanks to the table. A random dungeon finder tossed into the process would be great, so you cant just pick the easy dungeons to farm. This would be easy to implement with the gearscore coming. It worked amazing in WoW, shortened queue times from 45mins down to 15 or so for dps.

except that there is still only 2 dungeons max level to choose from to farm for gear and none drop the good gear so you just have to farm the same 2 for tomes to get gear

They have already said RDF is coming.

Also might be an idea to make the last boss in each dungeon drop a piece of DL or something, give people more incentive to do more than just WP and AK.

This has been mentioned before but in case some missed it, there is a way to cut down that time by a bit.

When you queue up for any DF, if you know the dungeon well enough that nothing needs explaining, you can select all the languages in the options before hitting the queue. That should make the time shorter, hope that helps.

But yes in general if you're a single dps going for a queue it tends to be a bit longer.

I wasn't talking about end game content, but, even while tanking on my 50 or 39, there are LOTS of players wearing common quality gear and it's sad. Obviously there is a problem whether it's lack of tanks and healers, or, flaws in the matchmaking system. Something should be done to fix this and make queue times more reasonable for everyone, regardless of their job/class at all phases in the game.

I have this problem as well it's so irritating. I don't like being a tank because I don't particularly enjoy it but I've been forced to level my GLD up along side my LNC just to get into the DF for the main story line. I've just started lvling CNJ to give me more options but I don't really want to use it as a main for those runs. I spent my whole time on FFXI being a whm as a main and then moved onto DNC and DRG later on as mains, I just want to be able to use LNC for the main fights because it's what I enjoy using. It's ridiculous that DPS are forced to either wait for ages to get a spot or are forced to level up a tank or healer job on the side just to progress!
