We should be able to blacklist and friend people offline

I find it rather annoying when I'm getting spammed by some RMT user while I'm in the middle of a leve, shopping on the market, or whatever, then when I attempt to blacklist them... 'Lo and behold, it says it can't find the name because they're suddenly unavailable. We should be able to blacklist these people at any given time. You may want to plan ahead as well since your friend just informed you of one that he got a message from an hour ago, but you're unable to blacklist them because they're offline.

Secondly... Is it really necessary for us to wait until someone is online before sending them a friend request? It took days before a friend and I could actually get online at the same time just so I could send him a friend request and mail him something to help him get started. Would it have been so hard to simply make an offline friend request into a mail format so they could access it next time they sign on and choose to accept or decline?

I agree, they should make an offline friend request into a mail format. I've been searching for a way to add an offline player.

Sometimes they will log off as soon as they send you a tell, i count my record of fast blacklist of no longer then 1 second if i am not in a cs or busy, i had a few give me the can't locate error when it only took me 1-2 seconds to blacklist. they know full well they will be blacklist by any person who isn't an idiot who buys gill, (Which is why they will delete the character when enough people blacklist them and continue the cycle with a new one) so always check your list. so they will sometimes log off quickly if you were the last few people they send bulk tells to.

So you may not always catch them, even when prepared. But i also would like that ability. no reason not to if it's possible.

Me and my work colleague share very different work schedules, so the time that we are online together is very limited. We have been trying to meet up online for a while but with out the proper communication we have not been able to organise this as we would like. If we had the opportunity to add each other offline we would be able to begin sending mail to each other. It would be amazingly helpful... he has a lot of good crafting classes and I have terrible gear if you get what I mean.

I feel like the inability to Add friends offline is to prevent people from friending themselves through mule characters and using mail to transfer items and gil between characters, granted you can accomplish this in a FC but its a little more annoying running between company chest and summoning bell. I think of course this is to discourage RMTs but we've seen how it all works lol

Edit: Oh i just thought of this as well, it would discourage people from purchasing extra retainers as you could have up to 16 retainers of mule characters if they allow you to transfer items between characters easier

I quit a bit after release of AAR because I couldn't stand that I couldn't craft something for an alt and mail it to myself w/o having to use a middle man. I'm an altaholic and even though 1 character can be almost anything.... that 1 character couldn't be a different race/gender :p

Just recently renewed yesterday and was hoping this had been addressed as it had tons of complaints before but apparently went ignored.

they made it specifically so you couldn't add yourself on purpose and even the work around so you could they got rid of.

It's not that it's been ignored. It's that way on purpose.

You can always transfer things through FC storage.
