Did 2.05 change how ilvl70 equip binds to player?

I thought I heard somewhere that ilvl70 crafted equipment does not ever get bound to the player who uses it, but that after patch 2.05 they were changing this so it DOES get bound after use.

I tried searching for information on this everywhere but I can't find any. Can someone give me an answer? :o

It does bind to 1% at least now. However, to raise that, you need to fight in Coil.

I don't recall what it was like before 2.05 but I don't think it changed.

Currently i70 crafted items are only bound while running inside of Coil - just like DL gear. [edit] after the initial 1% bind, of course.

Prior to 2.05, ilvl70 equipment didn't bind at all outside of Coil -- you could still trade it to other players as long as you never set foot inside Coil. 2.05 changed that so that it binds on first use, but doesn't gain any additional spiritbond outside of Coil. The change was done to keep people from using the gear for farming and then selling it off to other players.

Ah, I see, so you can't trade it to other players after you use it the first time now AND it can't gain spiritbonding for materia conversion unless you use it in Coil...
