mix up with the hydra quest

alright so here is my dilemma, i hit level 50 with my dragoon and we all know that once you hit level 50 your character gets all badass and thats when the fun begins, i mean going for the best arms and armor for your character is pretty fun and i have no problem about doing the same dungeons 50 times over, i had started the relic weapon quest which sees you going all over eorzea which is quite alright since its the weapon you WANT for your character, now it was my first go through and i was doing everything that i was supposed to, go see this guy, go through this dungeon, talk to this person, kill these monsters in natalan, go talk to this guy, then near the end of it he sends you off to face the hydra, badass right? i go to the area your supposed to talk to the guy and then it asks me that im about to do a instance where im gonna be synced to level 50, so i thought no problem lets do this, next thing i know im in the instance against the hydra by myself and when i check out my quest log it says it needs a 8 person party, i had no idea on this since i didnt read it when it was given to me and i was all giddy to get my relic weapon, so then in a panic i go back into my quest log and click on the button to the far right which i thought was leave the instance, nothing happens so i go back in and no quest, so i just get myself killed and get teleported out, someone revives me and then i spend the next oh i dunno hour and a half putting together a party to face the hydra, then i realize that the person im supposed to talk to doesnt have the marker above his head and i start to wonder, i probably abandoned the quest and i would just go and talk to the smith who starts you off on the quest, i go back to him and then he has me restart my quest ALL OVER AGAIN, now i am not to keen on going through the whole thing again, running all over, doing a dungeon that takes about 45 minutes to an hour, spend around 60k in gil and probably 2 hours or so again on the whole relic quest PLUS i would have a relic weapon in my inventory that i cant do anything with, so please PLEASE help me out with this and get me back into this game. i have some darklight armor already, you know how the endgame grind is, for me its fun though and since this little thing happen i have just been choked up about the game and i find it hard to get back into it, maybe if i got the item that i need for the point i am in on the relic weapon quest, which is a materia enhacned champions lance with 2 savage aim III materia i believe, i would just gun through it and have no problem since me dropping another 60k gil is something that i REALLY dont want to do
