The company of heroes part of the main quest is not fun AT ALL...

I play games to have an epic experience where i'm the hero and i get to save the day. Going to get wine and cheese and all that other crap is not something i want to do. If i wanted to do that i can go to my fridge and do that with even touching my pc.

I know they wont change it but atleast awknowledge that the next quest lines you create you leave this kind of crap out, you could have used the whole time that you talked about the "Company of heroes" to explain the garleans background or talked about some other important point that was experienced earlier in the main story line.

So again, leave that crap out next time you make story quests, thanks.

Heh, I tend to agree.

While "fetch" steps in quests can be a necessary evil, there are quite a few too many "fetch this and hand it to Bob" steps, even in storyline quests.

That's just a total waste of time and not fun at all. It really is excessive at times.

Liked! How many times I've had to return to an area right after leaving because I didn't realize there was a pointless intermediate step in the quest.

Couldn't agree more. Upon occasion, especially with side quests, I don't mind fetch missions. But that was a HORRIBLE part of the storyline. It actually prompted me to stop playing and do it over the course of a few days rather than drive on and knock it out in a short time frame.

yeah thats the most boring part of the main story line I believe I was not crazy about it travelling around and looking at scenery is nice but they could of space it out give us a breather from the pointless running it was a bit much :/

The whole process of proving oneself doing seemingly pointless tasks reminded me of something.

The entire point of that quest line is to prove you're not an impatient dick of a hero and are willing to help people even in the most simply of tasks, like a real hero would do, helping people in any way possible.

Other "go get this" quests yeah they're annoying but game developers need to make the game longer than it is somehow or people reach end game faster and are bored as crap. If I got to end game about a week earlier than I did I'd have canceled my subscription until 2.1 came out. Sucks but is necessary.

While that's the point of the quest the logic behind it is utterly idiotic if you stand back and examine it. Oh, the beastmen are about to summon Titan and hundreds, if not thousands, of people could lose their lives if we don't act fast!!! But first... go get me a sammich with some pickles you can only obtain from an out of the way shop in Gridania and a jar of mustard from a guy in Southern Thanalan who won't sell you it for a ridiculous price until you darn his socks with a thread you can only obtain from a... yadda yadda.

Aye, it's awful. And some people even defend this game story... it's so filled with endless padding that it's ridiculous.

Hopefully next expansion story will be more in line with the Job Quest, i.e. one important mission every 5 levels or so.
