10/30/2013 New crash
Been having issues over the last few days. Finally got the game working after doing several updates to my system and 3 re installs of the game. And now this.
Long story short. Played fine all yesterday. Today this happens.

Open game, type in password, click play. Crashes the very moment it opens the .exe.
Running Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. 8 GB RAM. AMD 3.33 quad core. AMD Radeon HD 5670 and 7800 series bridged.
I would be happy to supply any other information that might be needed to fix this problem. Program is already being run in administrator mode. Only way it doesn't error at the version check.

Could it be something with the crossfire setup you have going?
-
I haven't messed around with the advanced settings with it at all. And recently updated all my software for it. Everything is set to "Default/standard/use app setting", overclock options are all off. Really it should be pretty stable.

Does it work when only one graphics card is enabled?
-
Deactivated the older card using device manager. Didn't so much as cause a 1 character change in the error that pops up.

In a nutshell, your FFXIV program is trying to access an address in RAM that was not allocated to it. c0000005 indicates ACCESS_VIOLATION and 0085c744 is probably the function that was trying to be performed or where it was being performed. It might also be caused by a different application running code in the same address FFXIV was trying to allocate. In the interest of helping us players drive home just how awful Square Enix is with their development, feel free to follow the instructions here to create a nice memory dump file, using procdump, that can be used to analyze exactly what FFXIV is doing when it crashes. I suggest pasting it here and probably opening a ticket with SE and attaching the information. It's highly unlikely you will ever be helped by Squeenix, though. Good luck.

Thank you for the informative reply Syx. I'm going to run a check of my RAM first however. Does anyone know of a 3rd party performance program for custom allocation of RAM? I would still like to play the game, even if SE support will inevitably fail me.
