Why do you continue to play?

Just curious why do you who are so much better than everyone else still play this game? There are some that you can find in nearly every thread with a negative opinion about anything from turn 5 being bugged to casuals being under geared ( cause your not willing to put fourth the effort 8-12 hrs a day effort ) game is to easy end game is not suppose to be for everyone on and on and on.
So why do you play?
I can do this in 40 mins so I have RL time ( to spend in forums posting how great I am or how bad everyone else is) So why do you play?
I come to forums for advice or tell of something fun . Understand you can post whatever here but when all you do is complain and bash something you have to have a reason why do you still play?

I know this isn't directed towards people like me, who actually like the game, but I do believe that many, if not most, can agree that FFXIV has a strong foundation and potential, and I believe many can see it. I wouldn't be surprised many people who are angry at one thing and complaining about the game, do it because they know, in their eyes, it could be much better and since they know the game, in its core, is great, they care in the end. If not, they wouldn't be posting here in the first place.

That's my theory, anyway.

the only thing bugged about turn 5 is the conflagration.
if you have low tolerance for casuals your in the wrong game.


here is something you can do: seeing as how you have leveled a grand total of *one* class to fifty, start leveling more classes. run dungeons with them. do something stupid (like run easy primals with starting clothes)

it's an mmo. there is quite a bit you can do.

And your theory makes complete sense. However not all of these ppl are offering constructive criticism. It is just criticism
Want a challenge take a group of casual players who have not done titan hm and teach see if you can win. Without gil attachment . That would be challenging.
Btw im a casual player who enjoys this game. I wont buy my way to end game ill enjoy making mistakes. It is fun to learn. Dont need to blow up game in a week and yes i will enjoy endgame as well bugs mistakes fails wins good groups bad groups etc ... it is a game made to be fun played to be fun.

To answer your question, we must first ask, who ARE the people making the complaints? Well, they fall into a few categories..

1. "I'm not happy because of ____"
These threads usually have a valid point but mostly people shush and shame them if the idea to add/change something is unpopular.

2. "This games too easy"
These threads are started by a few diff kind of folks and to name them all is time wasted, most these folks are asking devs to design the game around 10% of the pop and that's not gonna happen.

3. "I'm not continuing my sub because.."
These threads are usually someone complaining about various things and only 25% of the time do they actually quit..

There are a lot more, thing is these people exist in EVERY MMO, there will ALWAYS be complaints, there will never be a perfect game.

So the complaints will continue, some valid, some not..its the way of things.

I play in hope of finding a DF group that doesn't have people who just got lvl 50 and are still wearing their lvl 20 jewellery .

Dark Souls 2 isn't out yet.

Because I am a lonely, lonely man with no friends in real life and a grim future, so I play pretend on a video game and act like people like me. (They don't)

I can tell you. Because there is still a lot to do :-) And its the first mmo after FF11 that pleases me in any way.

Dark Souls 2 and ESO haven't come out yet
