Another possible method For AF 1.5 Gear ( Allagan Pieces)?

I was just thinking that if the cap continues to be the same, how about an alternative?

Something like: ( Below equals to 1 piece of gear)

- 500-750 Tin Pieces
- 200-300 Bronze Pieces
- 100-150 Silver Pieces
- 40-60 Gold Pieces

Note: However much is appropriate for the gear would obviously be up to SE to decide.

It will also get people that don't wanna do sidequests into doing it for the Allagan pieces.

Just throwing out ideas, and to give Allagan Pieces more of a use then just selling them.

Note: What I listed, is just an example, and should mostly be alot higher than this.

750 tin = ~19k
300 bronze = 30k gil
150 silver = 75k gil
60 gold = 150k gil

Total gil to buy a single piece of AF1.5 = Just under 300k?

This would destroy the crafting market for high level gear (vanya, darksteel, etc) ...

I'd be opposed to this even if it costs 4x the amount you suggest.

Also, IIRC - Gold currency is only obtainable from non-repeatable quests. So there's a hard cap on it per char, and it can't be farmed.



I agree that we need another use for the Allagan currency besides just trading it for gil, but I don't think this is the right way to go.

Ditto for beastmen currency.

Quite honestly? Good. SE messed up by making certain materials quite.."odd" to obtain as is and we already know crafting is taking a backseat for the most part this early on. Currently majority of quests and all dungeons drop coins so it would not only drive up prices (we know how greedy people get when they can rip someone off) it wouldn't "kill" the market on the crafted ones as it would be more expensive to get the Allagan pieces than the crafted pieces since them making WP more viable to run floored prices on the tome mats as is (thus further bringing said items down, i.e vanya and rose gold stuff and etc.) unless Ragnarok is impervious to content spammers.

Anything that has a "Grind" that you constantly " Repeat", is boring. That's why there needs to be some mix up so it's not " 1 dungeon does all"

As much as I want AF 1.5 I am not grinding 1 dungeon to get it tomes. ( Most people prefer AK) and personally will not torture myself to such a spammy grind. Same things goes with FATEs, After I got to 38 ARN I realized that FATEs or getting boring and it seems to do the same things over and over. So now I am only doing Dungeons/Hunting Log/Leves to grind to 50.

None of this makes sense at end game because they messed up the game progression because it was not done. You were suppose to get DL until you beat Titan and then move on to Crystal Tower...but oops...that is not finished yet...so people have run Coil undergeared in order to do something. The tricky part right now is that AF+1 Gear is nearly the same as Allagan but you can just farm to get your AF+1 gear and then run Coil...the downside is you will have to save up for Months to do that and then you would be getting Allagan (or trying to) just becuase you like the look better. What they should have done is made quests to get your AF+1 Gear and made it hard...then it would be more interesting and feel like you accomplished something.

As it stands now you can get your "Best Gear" just by being brain dead running dungeons forever and ever and ever and ever and ever....then presto you have your best gear...yeah!!!!!!!! Most rediculous time sink in the history of a game. I am so sick of AK and WP already that I can hardly stand it. I am fully geared in DL and two pcs of Hero accessories and now just need to be TITAN...oh yeah that fight is fun but sucks at the same time. Let's make a fight where you have to be damn near perfect for 10 minutes straight with no dodging mistakes or else your run is wasted...yeah that is fun!!!!!
DF is useless except to practice the early stages...because no one is good enough to get past the heart phase consistently due to being under-geared etc.....

agreed. I think the market for crafted end game gear is destroyed already. It takes nearly as much or MORE grinding to make a crafted piece of gear that's crappier then the grinded gear. Then you have to have a geared up lvl 50 crafter to actually make it (even more grinding). then you have to pentameld for it to actually be good, which requires even more (materia grinding) or tons of gil. 10 times to work for something that's still not as good overall in the end. They really screwed crafters on this.

I'd have to say no. First off it's impossible to get 40+ gold pieces. Even if you took gold on every quest that offers them you wouldn't have 40 and no one is going to list them on the AH if they need them for gear. Second off making it possible to buy the vendor gear with gil (via buying the gold pieces) would make the gold pieces worth more to a player than they are to a vendor and would encourage people selling them for millions so people can buy the gear and I say no to that too.

They will remove or raise the myth cap when Crystal Tower comes out, I'd bet money on it. IMO the only reason the myth cap currently exists is to put a break on the speed at which people gear out to slow down BCB progression. They want BCB to last a while. And it's already been proven that a group in mostly IL90 can kill twintania with some well placed raises and good positioning.

And I wouldn't be surprised if CT comes out and they remove the cap and remove myth drops from WP and AK and move myth drops to Hard Mode WP and HardMode AK. So to get myth in 2.1/2.2 it would be CT, BCB, HM AK, HM WP, HM Primals, Ultimate Primals.

That would be nice....but why would they...then everyone would have AF+1 gear faster and not need Crystal Tower at all except that we are all bored.
