In regards to NA servers and sub-par performance to Japanese servers

I play on Goblin, and usually I have okay lag (my lat usually comes up anywhere between 110 to 180 averages), which is peculiar because I experience a lot more lag than what my latency indicates.

Tonight though, has been terrible on Goblin. Now before you ask, yes I've pinged the Montreal servers, the Goblin server itself, and have done the pinging through my different hubs (I use cox communication and am located in Arizona) everything is coming up with acceptable ping/latency. Additionally I have checked all my hardware, reset my modem/router, and made sure all my firmware, etc was up to date.

Again however, the lag on Goblin, a server located in Canada is absolutely awful tonight. When its running well, its still only 'okay' for its location.

I've done a few tests with Tiamat a Japanese server which consistently pings lower than Goblin. After making a character there tonight and testing to make sure that it was not delays in my ISP, I'm amazed at how much better the game plays lag wise when playing on a server geographically further, much further, than our Canada based Goblin.

Squeenix, this is kind of ridiculous; when you get better performance out of a server across the pacific ocean than one on the same continent/landmass that you are, you may need to revise your decision of using that location based on its hardware and networking specifications.

Why do we have absolutely no servers in the United States? This decision seems a bit odd to me, so I'm guessing there has to be some reason why you guys did not establish at least some servers on US soil for US players, I simply want to know why.

Please fix this, at times it makes the game unbearable to play as is the situation tonight. I'd consider transferring but after establishing a community of friends and establishing a relationship with them, this just isn't an option. In reality, I shouldn't be asked to pick between an acceptable performing server versus playing with my friends when having acceptable hardware and an ISP to support gaming activities.

try tracert see how many hops it is this can screw up your connection one time I did it and Goblin was 24 hops... I tried it today and its only 14 hops so idk if that makes much difference. What kills me is the duty server lag idk what its IP is to ping or tracert it.
