Please do something about mid-battle scenes in Castrum

I recently just finished my story and ran the last 2 dungeons (Castrum & Praeratorium)
During Castrum, there were multiple cut scenes that happened while all of us were engaged in battle. I saw a cut scene go off while I was in a red circle and when I came out of it, I was in a red cone attack. Due to this I died, and since I'm the healer, the other healer had to res me, which then caused the rest of the party to wipe.

This is ridiculous. I understand cut scenes are part of the gameplay but at least make people invincible for a few seconds after they come out of the cut scene if you throw them mid battle. Even if someone has already run the dungeon, the sudden cut scene, and the time to hit escape and "yes" still makes you vulnerable.

maybe for the pros out there it's no big deal but for new people who are just finishing up their stories being fresh 50 and not knowing when the cut scenes come this is a problem and a waste of time when everyone has to run back to the map. Obviously when we went to kill the guys on this map without cut scenes interrupting, they all got killed almost instantly. No other dungeon has this issue (that I've encountered) so please do something in regards to this. Thank you.

Thing is... If you run the dungeon like it' s supposed to, that won't happen. Cutscenes are usually triggered when you darken searchlights or enter a boss zone, if everyone in the party sticks together and kills mobs without anyone going ahead and performing a cs-triggering action, you'll never end up in a aoe. You probably had some members in your party that already knew the dungeon, and tried speeding it up.

Well we were running this dungeon for completing the story for me and my friend so we did everything correctly thanks to the veterans in the parties.
it kinda went like this:
-we get to the room with the 2 big sword guys (I forgot the name)
-we walk down these stairs and they come after us
-immediately a cut scene pops up (its like maybe less than a minute)
-I saw myself in a red circle before it and figured well no big deal I guess 1 hit
-I come out of cut scene and I'm in a red cone attack with only 25% of my HP remaining. Being a healer I instantly die.


Remember that most people will run Castrum for their story now not for tomestones (cause honestly I think only idiots will run Castrum for tomstones when WP is much faster and no cut scenes that waste time) so most people will be new and won't know where there's a search light to turn off or where the cut scene will pop up. And this is exactly what happened to us. And yea you're right we did have members in the party who were in DL gears and had IFrit/relics etc that were helping us out (not intentionally speed running) but the point being here is....if say they WERE speed running jerks, this would be even worse. At least let the people who are in a cut scene be "safe" in the case that they do run into jerks who run ahead, trigger enemies while they are in middle of a cut scene.

There's also a Japanese thread about the praertorium triggering the boss and attacking people while they are waiting for others to finish watching a cut scene. So clearly, this isn't a singled out problem.

Sounds like a miscommunication problem you had there. I have run Castrum many times and I have come to understand that when cutscenes are triggered while you are fighting, the fight actually stops until at least one or more members are finished watching the cutscenes (not 100% sure though). So I think the DL/relic guys who were with you skipped the cs, thus resuming the fight with the result of getting you in the Magitek Colossus' cone aoe. If you're sure that people weren't skipping cs for letting you guys watch them and enjoy the dungeon, then yes, it's probably some problem/bug.

Also, what you said about Wanderer's Palace is true, but for me as a DPS, Castrum's DF queue has always been faster than WP/AK, so you might want to take that in account ;)
