I got to the bit where you speak to Cid beside the enterprise but i was only level 43, and after some failed attempts waiting for The Stone Vigil, I teleported out to go do some of my hunting log and now i cant get back to Cid, I can only speak to the airship landing attendee and the only options are to purchase passage to Ul'dah or Lima Lominsa. Can I get back to Cid to accept the mission?
When I ran into that situation, there was a third option in that menu called "Lady of the Vortex", which allowed me to go back to Cid. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be appearing if you weren't able to accept the quest due to the level requirement.
If the quest is still in your questlog, you should find the option to continue the quest at the Airdock (talking to the attendent) in Gridania.
If the quest is not in your log: Check your finished quest section which quest you did last, then google for "questguide mainstory ffxiv" - there you look for the next quest in line and where you can get it.
