PIE to MP and MP Regeneration formulas?

Hi all,

I have a few newbie questions here here about MP calcs and MP regen!

Does anyone have a formula to relate piety to MP? I've read 8 MP / PIE at level 50, which not only implies it scales by level, but from poking around a few level 50 toons, it also seems too simplistic. Seems like MP scales with both level and PIE, and that their are diminishing returns on PIE?

Also, does anyone know how MP regeneration is calculated? I've heard 2% per tick, but how long is a tick? I'm guessing this also scales by level since at level 10 with my gladiator it regenerates at 5 per tick and I have 80 MP (6.5%). Is it possible that regen too is based directly off PIE, something like PIE/3 per tick?

No idea about teh actual MP/PIE part, but a tick is 3 seconds for XIV.

MP Recovery is 2%/tic in battle. Outside of battle it is increased and maybe gradually increases.

PIE only affects the size of your mana pool as far as I know. ^^;

Yeah if you read the tooltips it says that Piety is what increases maximum HP, I think your regen is a set number except in the case of a whm using Shroud of Saints or an Arcanist/SMN/SCH using aetherflow

I think there's *something* else that affects its refresh rate that's specific to mages, because when I borrow cure when I'm soloing on a melee job, even outside of combat it takes a lot longer to refill than it does as a mage.
