Suggestion: Restrict Leves to "Self-Made" HQ Items.

I love crafting in this game and I have been using the "Triple Turn-In" Leves trying to always turn in HQ versions.

I make all of my own (finished) HQ items. I think everyone should have to. I don't like that people can just buy HQ versions of items to turn in. They should have to earn it.

This should apply to the Guild Quests also.

Since HQ items are "Signed", I don't see why a System Check couldn't be used to check that the name on the HQ item matches the name of the character turning in the item.

To clarify, I have no problem with buying Normal items even for the "Triple Turn-In Leves" and I have no problem with buying HQ Mats to create the finished HQ item, but I just think that the finished HQ item should be made by the crafters themselves (especially for the Triple Turn-In Leves and the Guild Quests).

Maybe I'm being too "Hardcore" (or just a jerk), but I just don't like the idea of people "buying" their way to level 50 (especially gil buyers).

While this works on stacked items, it does not work on gathered items.

This would screw fishermen over.

huh. No. I did my first "buy in" level today. two HQ decorated bucklers. cost 2/3 of my on hand gil(all LV 40 quests in coerthas those 2 shields cost 19,999 gil).

You scrimped and saved, but you don't want the crappily made algorithms to screw you over.

what do you have to say for the person who has a filled out HQ craft with HQ mats when it fails on the last step? better luck next time? NO. That's BULL****. When I make something IRL, it isn't luck that makes a beautiful table or carving, it's skill. When skill is more important than luck in the system, then maybe your idea has merit. but as it stands, no. HELL NO.

Notably, when I make things for myself, I start with HQ mats(gathered by me) and go every step of the way, only buying what I can't make myself(mostly wood.).

Guy levels crafting. Wants to restrict crafters from making money off of certain things they craft. Makes perfect sense.

sure lets make everything worthless along with binding and none tradeable dark and allegan gear. Sounds fun. Lets just get rid of the auction all together.

Crafting doesn't require skill in any way, just time.

Some people with a lot of gil might rather want to hire somebody with more time to powerlevel them for gil.

I'm certainly very happy to craft HQ leve items for other people for gil. You can stay there whining while I make hundreds of thousands from this.

Geniused suggestion is genius. It's their gil they're spending, they have the right to spend it anywhere whether it is farmed or whatever means he/she got the gil.

Yeah... personally I just leveled from 30-40 in alchemy this morning by buying Hi-potions. Took a bit more than 3 stacks or so. Am I gonna do more? Nah. I just wanted to push myself a bit so I can have an easier time HQing my own Hi-potions.

Doing this took me outta my loop of leveling all my classes together. So I had to re-equip myself by buying a hat, leggings, main tool and sub-tool from the board (top, gloves and boots are from the company {though the boots are level 43 so I haven't equipped them yet). So in this way, I put my money made from selling random stuff I HQ'd while leveling other classes into the market board and made several people a bit richer (from the potions, tools and attire).

Is there something wrong with this? Yeah, it felt a little cheap to do and obviously you can't do it all the time and with most classes (plus you'll run outta money if you keep it up), but it actually supported the market. So it boggles my mind to see people complain about it.

Also you'll note that not all things actually get signed. I dunno why it happens, but somehow signing gets lost on some crafted items (though none of my own seem to do that, but maybe others won't see what I have signed on some items I sell in the way that I don't see all of theirs).

I agree with having to make the item yourself.

1. It prevents people from buying their way into 50
2. Story-wise the idea is that the requester wants YOU to make them an item. YOU are honing your craft. YOU have the skill to accept a leve of this calibur. YOU should be making the item.

They could just make it so you have to go to the leve person and craft the item in front of them like you have to do when melding materia in front of the Goblin guy for Advanced Material Melding.

Going to the front of the leve person. Yeah, I'd never do leves again. Do you know how annoying it'd be to see all that damn flashing and such with so many people standing in front of them?
