OMG HELP ME!

These guys will not leave me alone! I've never had RMT spam this bad! I keep blisting these goldceo guys and they keep spamming me with new characters. Every time I blist one i get a new one 10-30 minutes later. I've had 2 of them spamming me before i could even blist one of them. I think i have 8 of them in a row that I've blisted.
Someone needs to shut down their stupid website. I wish I could smash their faces in.
I just can't get a break from them.

I'm tired of it too... SE should do a blanket ban on all characters with that name. Their "ban first, ask later" policy would work very well in this case.

I'll admit those guys are out of control. /blist add <r> is your friend though

It would be of tremendous benefit if there were a Right Click > Report option added. My personal suggestion for Square-Enix is to set a threshold -- something like ten spam reports = either an instant suspension, or a GM is immediately pinged with a high-priority ticket for them to review their chat.

This is roughly what exists in World of Warcraft, and for the most part, it works very well. While your opinion may vary on that particular game, this is one specific example that ought to be followed.

Remember, everyone: Gil spammers are not just bots and farmers. The vast majority of people you get spam and whispers from advertising this are on stolen accounts. They are full-blown criminals; absolute parasites on any game with virtual economy, and should be treated as the pure scum they are. Never, ever buy from them, because in doing so, you're paying people to steal accounts and actively ruin this game.

Square, please, please hurry and implement further tools to help us combat this filth.

This would be a 'band-aid' solution at best, because these organizations are very quick to come up with ways to circumvent auto-bans. However, it's not entirely without merit. Seeing as how it's overwhelmingly likely that these are still stolen accounts, banning them is a good way to get the attention of their legitimate owners.

Though, with that thought: Hopefully, on the SE end of things, there's a good workflow for handling customer contacts claiming their account was banned as a result of it being stolen. There've been horror stories of it taking weeks to recover accounts affected thusly, or even being told outright that they'd never get them back.

Make a macro that says "/blist add <r>". Hit that macro every time you get an RMT tell and confirm.

MMO's should just make these security authenticators mandatory, would decrease the amount of RMT spam by a lot.

I'm very surprised how slow SE is with this. They let RMT run rampart in XI until people just gave up and quit because of them (It was nearly impossible to do Sky/Sea/NMs and even HNM's got invested). SE eventually got rid of them but it did some huge damage to the game. It is beyond me why they not learn from the mistakes they did in XI and ban those Accounts faster or give us more options to report etc them.
It feels like they do not really care.

And how quickly do you think my blist will fill up with these goldceo nutjobs? I've already added 9 yesterday or today or whatever. SE need to raise the 200 RMT cap on this thing. At this rate I have about one or two weeks until my blist fills up.
