BLM mana question

what is the mana number i should be looking for to blizz 3 for mana regain, is 200 mana to low?

Blizzard 3 costs 179 MP at level 50 under Astral Fire 3. Ideally somewhere around 400MP is the lowest you should end up with as you typically wanna throw in a Scathe after Blizzard 3 as to not waste a GCD waiting on MP to recharge.

You need enough for Blizz3>Thunder2 combo, that's the number you want. If you have to wait for a mana tick to cast thunder 2, you are losing dps.

If you have a fire starter proc however, and you just used Thundercloud. you need enough mana to use Scathe after as the Thunder2 will be a waste.

Blizz 3 > Scathe > Transpose > Fire 3 (you need scathe to cover the time needed for the mana tick)

Doing it wrong. Bliz3 = 79 MP, and you want to be using thunder2 instead of scathe, unless expecting mob to die soon.

Correct, i meant it to read Transpose, edited.

On the matter of blizz1>Scathe? I prefer to use scathe to adjust my position, Blizz 1 would keep you locked in place. If you are not continually looking for a better/safer place to dps from, you are doing it wrong in my eyes.

Every thundercloud/firestarter proc I look to position myself in a place where I wont have to move. Scathe, for 30 potency less, means i will gain uptime over the course of a fight.
