Regional Levequest failed to fail!

My linkshell started the faction leve "Wanted: Tarbh Uisge". We were in hunt of Runestones and Buffalo horns The first time person did their quest, we had no issues.

The second time, it is my turn to start the leve. Right before they place roseling leaves down to summon Notorious Monster, I crash with no way to communicate to my party that I am gone. They think I am there because, as with many crashes, my avatar remained in the game for quite some time. Long enough for them to defeat both enemies. I come back to find no chest, no loot, and the faction leve marked as completed!

Normally when you crash during a leve, it automatically fails you so you can try again in 36 hours after the reset. But with it marked as complete, that is over 600 faction points, waisted! This is ridiculous! To the best of my knowledge, no one received any loot better than a few crystals.

The time to earn the faction points is hard enough, then to do the prerequisite leves, then schedule a day with fellow linkshell members where everyone can be on at the same time to help! It is a lot of work and a lot of time, gone!

I'm not asking for handouts, I would like the leve set to failed as is normal when someone disconnects during a leve, so I can try it again just like any other failed leve! Isn't that a fair request?

It isn't right that it got flagged as complete, I didn't even get gil, from the npc, out of it!

I filed a ticket with a GM, but they can't do anything! (Are they able to do anything other than unstick people from terrain?) They said to make a post to the forums, so that is what I am doing.

From my understanding people were abusing a bug where you could do faction leves over and over without using up faction points. I'm assuming by killing the NM and getting the chest but then "failing" it. I'm not sure of the specifics though.

I still feel there should be something more than a waist of faction points when it takes so much to earn them. That doesn't make sense to me, since only the person who started the leve (or linked?) has a chance at getting a rune.

If that person doesn't touch the chest before failing, there is no loot. The most the rest of the party gets for their troubles is a proportionally smaller amount of gil and crystals.

At some point they started giving SP too, which I can see being abused, unless the whole party is denied spoils of any kind unless the person who started the leve is present, but would that be fair to the party? Eh... I get the feeling this sort of thing is low on Square-Enix's list of improvements anyway. They have come a long way, but they still have a long way to go!
