To DoT or not to DoT (as a Monk)

Hey guys,
i started playing Monk as my second Job and i was wondering about the use of DoTs.
With my Monk beeing Level 34 and my Marauder Level 18, i have access to 3 DoTs which i currently weave into my Rotation.
Do you guys think the DoTs are worth the GCD or are they a waste of time?

The dots you use as a monk are demolish, touch of death, and fracture.
Whether or not you use them is dependent on how long the enemy will live for. take a look at the potencies of each DoT along with their duration (a DoT ticks every 3 seconds).
If it's going to die really fast then a DoT won't be worth it.
If it's going to live for quite a while for the dots to tick long enough depending on the potency of the attack you would've otherwise used then it is worth it.

Generally speaking a monk wants to keep up 3 DoTs during their rotation on a boss fight.
If it's trash mobs i may use demo/fracture but no ToD, or use all three dots and spread dots on multiple enemies. or maybe even sometimes not at all. it depends on how long i thing it'll take for the trash to die.

3 DoTs. Demolish/Touch of Death/Fracture.

Try to keep the DoTs up 24/7, however, make sure you have 3 Stacks of GL before applying DoTs where ever possible and avoid using Fracture outside Blood for Blood otherwise you'll end up TP starved.

When you use a DoT it takes a snap shot of your current buffs. Meaning if you use Demolish when you have BfB and it runs out, the DoT will still do the same damage until you re-apply, meaning if you have 2 stacks of GL and you apply the DoT, you get 3 stacks, but you have a 2 stacks DoT, meaning you wasted DPS because you either let the weaker DoT tick or you override it and waste a GCD.
