I agree with you. Thief class has such a long history in Final Fantasy so I don't know why they would not add it in eventually.

But Locke is a treasure hunter...

Wrong universe. Don't turn ff14 into a Dissidia more than it already is.

Ninja which has similar play style to thief, is coming soon, I believe.

Pug seems to play like a thf would with the moving around. I'd bet that pug will have a second job that's nin or thf.
