Maintenance Notices: More detailed information, please.

I can't help but notice that Square Enix is the only one that does this.
"We are performing Emergency Maintenance at the following time: (From Time) (To Time). Details to follow"

The details always come anywhere from several hours to a full day after the maintenance. Why not just say: "We are performing Emergency Maintenance at the following time: (From Time) (To Time) to address an issue with the Doofus Duty Finder."

Just let us know what's up, SE. I mean, seriously. You're not a government agency, this isn't some Need To Know clandestine James Bond crap; tell us what's up.

Nor do we really need to know what is happening, as long as it works.

And what would knowing what exactly it is they're fixing do? If they say they're fixing a bug that closes an exploit players are abusing, it would cause a panic as players scramble to get as much of whatever it is the exploit broke before the patch fixes it, only inflaming the situation. Also they never know exactly if things they plan to fix will be during the maintenance - things never run according to plan, it's the nature of the beast.

They post the details when the maintenance is done and at the very least it will be a short summary or description of why they had the maintenance. Patches are elaborate with more point by point info.
They usually post it as a "follow up" or "concluded" notice.
STF RMT ban statistic type reports are usually towards the beginning of the month.
