Okay guys, from what i gathered, there are three ways to deal with caduceus P2. The first one, if you have enough DPS, is to evenly split your damage and kill both snakes without spawning any more adds, before they reach 5 stacks.
The second one, if you are behind on DPS, is to focus on snake and kite the second once the first is dead, without spawning any more adds.
The third one is to bother with the spawning add thing, with the lack of dps on boss from dps kiting, the taking care of healing dps and thus not healing tank for the time, the not killing adds but at same time taking them low enough, the boss ating and healing some anyway... It just seems like so much hassle and trouble, dragging the fight to the point where mages have mana issues and bard have to sing on top of kiting adds and dps'ing the boss... Yet it seems to be the way the boss was intented to be killed.
So my question is this: are there actually people that do things "properly" by spawning two adds each time during P2 ? Is there a video showing it ? Cause all the guides i saw on youtube use either tech 1 or tech 2, and tech 3 is actually only mentionned, and never used. Same for people ingame that killed him, it seems that no one ever bother to spawn adds in P2.

We do it the "proper" way every week. I don't really care if it's less efficient than burning, it's how we learned it and how we like doing it.

When we started Coil in the game early life, we were spawning slimes through the whole fight. Later on we decided to just burn the one with the MT until 10% or less then go nuts on the OT one until death.
Spawning slimes in P2 is not needed even if WAR is tanking one. -

10-23-2013, 05:56 PMRaikkiExactly, that's why I put proper in quotes, because according to the last live stream that's how it was intended to be fought, but since they don't considering burning the snakes an exploit and aren't going to fix it, there's nothing wrong with doing it that way either. I think newer groups tend to go for burning right off the bat because it's the simpler strategy and it's viable, but I would definitely suggest to them trying the "proper"/"intended" way at least for practice/fun anyway.Quote:

We have all DPS focus one snake down to about 10%. Generally the tanks pop an add on the platform they are tanking on and *most of the time* that keeps both snakes at around 2 or at most 3 stacks.. BRD's focus the add that the tank popped then go back to the snake we are focusing...
Once the first snake hits about 10%, the dd's switch to the 2nd.. By the time the 2nd one dies, the 1st is low enough for a melee LB kill.
So we don't actively go out and pop adds... We just "let them pop" if they happen to be on a tank platform. We do get a BRD to pop occasionally if one snake is getting heavily favored and the other is getting close to 5 stacks (which is pretty damn rare..) -

Last night we burned the snake down to split, and had are dd's damage them down for awhile till stacks started getting higher than we could indefinitely heal through. Then we just let them reform and kited him the the last 20% or so health he still had.
