Crossdresser Problems

During the last seasonal event, I accidentally picked up a male item instead of a female's from the Cascadier guys. However now, I can't get rid of it. You're not allowed to discard it and it won't go in the armoire. Which means I'm forced to waste a spot in either mine or my retainer's inventory, neither of which is ideal.

Surely I should just be allowed to discard whatever I want?
