Fresh Level 50 Players and Shout Parties

Does anyone else find it odd that players who just hit level 50 are shunned by DL/Relic players in parties?

First, I know DL/Relic players are looking for speedruns, and that's fine. I have PLD that has Allagan/AF2/DL gear and is doing Coil, and is capable of doing speedruns. I know how appealing they are.

But why are these players taking the time to shun, or even further, belittle players who are trying to grind for DL? Just today I joined a shout party with a DRG who was in AF gear and was looking to do Wanderer's Palace to grind tomes, no speedrun. Literally 5 players joined the party, then immediately left when they saw his gear. One even took the time to verbally state his gear was horrible. Which is ironic because that's why he wants to grind tomes.

So What is a fresh level 50 supposed to do? Use Duty Finder? The problem exists there as well. Praetorium Speedruns? That demands Relic as well. Castrum? Who does that anymore? The only good choice seems to be ask friends to grind with you, but why should players wanting to strive to be as good as the elites, have to go through so much anguish just to grind tomes? Shouldn't the community as a whole be more tolerable?

You seriously need to ask why people want to spend as little time as possible when farming tomes?

I think the main problem is the majority of players are uncompromising. I'm on turn 4 in coils and speed run with my FC. When they aren't around and I use the DF, I'm not going to expect those people to run as smoothly as the FC because they've never run with me, they might play different, I don't know what to expect from them. But it's expected, and therefor I don't think anyone should hold DF groups up to the same standards as they would their FC.

Do you need DL/Relic for AK/CM? Absolutely not. And you should not let the people requiring it make you think it is. They are requiring it to make their run go as fast as possible, not because you actually need it.

The problem isn't all on one side of the table either though. If you see people shouting for relic only speed runs, and you're a fresh 50, that shout isn't directed at you, and you shouldn't feel excluded for it. You can organize a group of your friends or use the DF until you have a static group of friends that you can invite regularly.

This mentality also bleeds into the pressure for new 50s to skip cutscenes, particularly in CM and Prae. The story is Epic, and it really kills it if you're being pressured to skip them. Can you watch them in your inn? Yes, but they're also out of order and in different sections, it's just not the way it was ment to be experienced the first time. They can't kick you, so just watch the cutescenes, either they will be impatient and clear stuff for you, or wipe, and try again once you're done.

Don't get me wrong though, I agree it's ridiculous when you see these "elitests" belittling someone who is not there yet.

Do DF by the end of the week, or later in the night. Works wonders for me.

Yesterday I was having 30 minutes queues for WP and every run went smooth, with most people in their AF.

I was able to DF my AK's in full AF np. I was able to get an ifrit bow though so that made it easier.

When I and most of the people I've partied with use DF I don't expect perfection. I don't expect to kill the wall before the bees spawn. Hell I've had to explain how to tank AK step by step every step of the way today. Twice.

Now, before I had relic and DL, did I get into shout groups? No. But I did just fine using DF or running with friends/FC members. I had other things to do while queued for 30 min for AK/CM (WP/AK since the hotfix, but I don't really need to DF much anymore).

There's a lot of dickheads that sit at home and play all day and are losers. This is their way to feel more powerful than people that actually have lives, that go out, workout, go to work
