Don't understand melding? Look inside!
Hi! I just wanted to put together a short little post to help people better understand how melding works. :)
The first thing that I'll mention is how to "request meld" from another player on the PC. To do this you simply right click on the player and select "request meld". Please note that this option will only appear if the targeted player is the class that can meld the item in question. You will also need a couple things aside from the item that which you want to be melded. The first item is the materia that you wish to have put into your item, the next will be a grade # carbonized matter (It is very important to understand that you will need the same level or higher of carbonized matter that the materia is).
Example that works: Grade 3 carbonized matter can be used with a Heaven's Eye Materia I.
The next portion is very important for in which materia you decide to have melded. Every item has a certain "stat cap", so you will need to carefully observe the top of the pop-up window when requesting a meld. You will see a +# at the top center of this window, and if the number is in red, that means your item is close to stat cap for that particular materia. Sometimes the number will be 0, obviously this means the materia will add nothing.

This is what the window for melding looks like when melding an item yourself. Take note of the 45%! This means that it has a chance to fail, because it is a forbidden meld.
P.S. If anyone wishs to add onto my post, feel free :)
