Why is announcing when your casting Virus, so common?

So someone else doesn't cast theirs and waste the cast.

It is? I've never seen anyone announce they're using it... Though they probably should at Titan, since having Virus up for Mountain Buster is nice and afaik you need at least two to keep it up for every Mountain Buster...

Nah, think you need 3 or more. The cooldown is just too long to have it for all of them with 2.

In coil turn four in my opinion, it is. Virusing dread makes it a lot easier. Having members waste virus by casting it at the same time is a big no-no.

Are you really so annoyed by a stranger trying to communicate with you so you both perform more efficiently, that you need to make a thread about it trying to find people to validate your belief that it's not needed?

Sorry if I misunderstood your intentions, what is the reason for this thread then? Because I've never once seen someone announcing they are using an ability and thought to myself "why are they doing that so much, I should post on the forums about it".

Having more information about what your party members are doing is never a bad thing.

You really are a piece of work arent you Sephirah?

I call it out on my SCH so that no one else uses theirs at the same time. That's really all there is to it.

Virus reduces a bosses damage-output stat by 15%. This can be huge to the survival of your group if used at the right time. Seeing as it doesn't stack, having someone waste theirs right after you applied yours, really sucks.

This would explain a lot. I have had the spell well before even reaching 50, yet ive never used it because i never noticed any discernible difference it made to the boss or his attacks.
