Linking items in chat

Does anyone know if/when they plan on implementing the ability to link items in chat? I've never seen an MMO where you cant do this. It seems like such a core feature I'm really shocked you still cant do it.

Someone asks about an item, you can link it.
Someone asks what weapon I have on my Bard, link it.
/fc hey guys, what do you think about [this item] vs [this item] ?

Theres just been so many occasions already where i wanted to do this only to remember in frustration that you cant in this game.
Ayone else think this is a really strange omission?
