Windows 8.1 and AMD 7970M

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 and upgrading the drivers on my video card to run the game at full resolution, I can no longer enter that game past the launch window. Here are some points of reference that might help.

• Worked perfectly with Windows 8 and switchable graphics
• Upgraded to windows 8.1
• Launched FFXIV with no issues, but was only using Intel HD 4k graphics
• Upgraded to current AMD driver and switchable graphics again
• After clicking on start, the game crashes stating: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has stopped working.

I'm at a loss here. Every other piece of software on my PC still works perfectly except FFXIV. Any suggestions for what I can try would be greatly appreciated.

This seems to be common with 8.1 'upgrades'.

click the details tab and upload the mndmp file to a file locker.
