So I tried to log into my friends computer with my account to see how it works before I make the transition, and instead I was locked out of the account for suspicious activity. So, do I have to just take the plunge and drop the money on a pc version just to test it out to see if I like the game play better or what?
If you login from a new IP address it'll make you verify your account via email, although adding a one time password (software or hardware token) will stop that.
However, you can only login on PC if your account has PC game on the same service account. Same for PC person, they can't login on someone elses PS3 if they haven't added a PS3 version to their account.
So if you want to test on PC you'd have to do it as a character on your friends account, sorry!
